Clean the trims with warm water and mild soap, steering clear of abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals that might scratch the surface. After washing, dry the trims thoroughly before putting them back.

Inside the fixture, use a microfiber cloth or extendable duster to wipe away dust, cobwebs, and debris, being gentle around the bulb and wiring. If the light bulb itself appears dusty, carefully remove it and wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Ensure the bulb is fully dry before reinstalling.

Keeping Ceiling Fans Dust-Free

Ceiling fans help circulate air but can collect and spread dust if not cleaned regularly. Always turn off the fan at the switch or circuit breaker first. With the help of a sturdy step ladder and a microfiber cloth or pillowcase, you can clean the blades effectively. Wipe down the fan’s motor housing, light fixtures, and pull chains with a damp cloth, taking care not to let moisture seep into electrical parts. For any stubborn grime, a mild soap solution that suits the fan’s material can help. Make sure everything is dried thoroughly to prevent moisture damage.

While cleaning, check if the fan blades wobble or if you notice unusual noises. These signs might mean it needs balancing or professional maintenance to keep it running smoothly.
